Yuri's Night!

Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space on April 12th, 1961. The US Space Shuttle first launched on April 12th, 1981. Yuri's Night is like the St Patricks Day or Cinco de Mayo for space. It is one day when all the world can come together and celebrate the power and beauty of space and what it means for each of us.

I truly am a very big fan of Yuri to the point where I named my Oscar (fish) after him. I also envy him for seeing the Earth from a fair distance as I would love to see how beautiful it is.
I have no time to celebrate though, I've got 3 weeks of midterms to deal with. :(

Kuwait Science Club Astronomy Club DASS always have a nice evening called "Yuri's night". I was there last year and we even brought them a finnish rock song in russian language called "Yuri Gagarin", tribute to him. Go there if you have time, I love the people in DASS :)
